About NIL TOKNS and
Granite State Collective
NIL TOKNS are digital collectibles, not unlike traditional player trading cards, that enable fans and alumni to directly contribute to a student athlete’s journey. Unlike printed trading cards, these digital collectibles are minted to the blockchain creating a permanent record of ownership for the buyer. Because the cost of creating these digital only collectibles is much lower than physical branded items, more of your purchase goes directly to the athlete. In fact, 75% of the proceeds of each sale goes to the athlete themselves.

Granite State Collective has contracted with Tokns Commerce, a leader in digital collectibles, to create and manage this program. Tokns Commerce has created similar programs for Great Britain’s Olympic Team, Martha Stewart, David Ortiz, Make-A-Wish, and many others to capitalize on their name, image and likenesses.
New regulations coming from the NCAA will require a review of any donations over $600 to determine if the student athlete has provided a “Fair Market Value” exchange for each deal they sign. This will curtail the rampant “pay to play” schemes many Collectives have used to pay athletes over the last few years.
Matching donors with opportunities to purchase NIL TOKNS will give UNH an early edge as this legislation comes online this spring. Donors are literally establishing “fair market value” of an NIL TOKN by purchasing Tokns individually or as part of a membership bundle. Coaches will be able to confidently offer projected NIL payments to each priority student athlete for the sale of their NIL TOKNS. The student athletes will help promote their NIL TOKNS on their NIL FanWall and through their social media posts. Most importantly, this will be turnkey for the student athletes so they can focus on their athletic and academic pursuits.
